Explore the 12-Week Series

Each week offers understanding, practical support, and a place to feel less alone. Explore the 12-week series below to see the topics we’ll be covering.

Week 1

A small circle of chairs in a warmly lit room, with one open chair inviting someone in

Introduction: You Are Not Alone

An introduction to the group, what participants can expect, and the relief of being with people who understand the impossible situations families may face.

Week 3

A quiet kitchen drawer with only a few spoons remaining, softly lit rather than bleak

Missing Spoons

Understanding the exhaustion that comes from ongoing worry, crisis management, caregiving, and never knowing what may happen next.

Week 5

A distant figure moving away from a dark storm while carrying an unseen burden, treated compassionately

The Pain They’re Running From

Looking beneath difficult behavior with compassion while remembering that understanding someone’s pain does not require accepting harmful behavior.

Week 7

A person with one hand over the heart while concentric alarm-like ripples soften around the body

Sirens in the Body

Recognizing how the body can remain on alert, even during quiet moments, and practicing ways to gently settle the nervous system.

Week 9

A person standing peacefully inside a circular boundary while other people’s belongings and problems remain outside it

The Hula Hoop

Identifying what belongs inside your circle of responsibility and what belongs to the other person, even when stepping back feels uncomfortable.

Week 11

Two people connected by a gentle thread, while each remains firmly rooted in their own separate space

Loving Them Without Losing Yourself

Reconnecting with your own identity, needs, relationships, and life while continuing to care about someone who is struggling.

Week 2

Two winding paths crossing and doubling back through a misty landscape, suggesting confusion and conflicting realities

The Crazy-Making Truth

Exploring the confusion, mixed messages, self-doubt, and emotional whiplash that can happen when someone you love is struggling.

Week 4

A gentle illustrated brain showing an activated alarm area and a calmer thinking area, surrounded by soft waves

The Hijacked Brain

A simple look at how prolonged stress, addiction, and mental health challenges can affect thinking, choices, reactions, and the entire family system.

Week 6

A glowing phone and car keys on a bedside table beneath moonlight, capturing the sudden pull of another crisis

Midnight Rescues

Exploring crisis cycles, urgency, and the difference between offering support and repeatedly being pulled into rescue mode.

Week 8

A closed door glowing warmly around the edges, with a small heart-shaped detail suggesting love remains present

Love With a Locked Door

Learning that love and boundaries can exist together, and that protecting your safety does not mean you have stopped caring.

Week 10

A person holding a cracked heart carefully between both hands while standing between storm and light

A Loving Person in an Impossible Situation

Making room for grief, anger, loyalty, hope, fear, and the many conflicting feelings that can exist at the same time.

Week 12

Broken pieces becoming a stained-glass sunrise, showing that hope can transform rather than disappear

When Hope Changes Shape

Exploring a form of hope that does not depend on controlling another person’s choices or guaranteeing a particular outcome.
